You are gorgeous. You are a glorious, radiant, stunningly powerful being. I know you doubt me, I know you might be rolling your eyes, or shuddering with embarrassment. Hear me out.
Your body is a phenomenal tool, and as unique as the Soul inhabiting it. Think of the gifts you've come here to this planet to share- your intelligence, kindness, humour, wit, intuition, creativity, compassion, infectious joy... Your body is the vehicle with which you're able to share these gems that the world so needs.
Of all of the eggs and of all of the sperm, of all of the work it took for those two to meet (yes... I said "work"). You were created! You didn't appear out of nowhere. The energy it took for your Soul to be created, and then your body, the collaborating of the two, that's miraculous. That's not an accident. You were called into being for a reason and with a purpose. This planet truly requires your presence.
With the amount of Fear around the idea of meeting and maintaining a standard of what is considered human "perfection," it is no wonder that so many struggle to fully love and appreciate the temple that is the body. With the truly misconstrued ideas of what "control" is, it's no wonder that so many of us fight to exact such punishing standards on ourselves.
I've been there, I get it. I've agonized over every bite of food taken, every meal consideration. I've deprived myself of the simple joys that nourishing the body brings. I've listened to the inner demonic voices as if they were my own, as if what they had to say had merit. I've allowed myself to be tortured by the collective stories told by society around what is an "ideal body type," and I've listened as if those stories were truth.
If any of this rings true for you, if this is resonating, I invite you to consider that your beauty is such that it encompasses you from the inside out. I invite you to consider that the stories you are listening to as truth are, in fact, patterns being triggered and that you have the power to release them and move into freedom.
Much love to you and that glorious temple of yours.
